MOVES is expanding mobile veterinary cardiology across Colorado’s Front Range with the addition of Lawrence Santistevan, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology). Based in Boulder, Dr. Santistevan is a board-certified cardiologist available to serve general practices and emergency animal hospitals throughout his service area.

Dr. Santistevan is originally from Colorado and earned both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University, graduating with his DVM in 2018.

Following graduation, he completed a small animal rotating internship at VCA West Los Angeles in California, where he built a foundation across multiple specialties. He then returned to Colorado for a critical care internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, refining his skills in managing complex and emergent cases, particularly cardiac emergencies.

His passion for cardiology led him to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he completed a cardiology residency and became a board-certified veterinary cardiologist through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2023.

Dr. Santistevan’s clinical interests include congenital heart disease and complex arrhythmias. His diagnostic work includes echocardiography, electrocardiography, blood pressure evaluation, and Holter monitoring.

Beyond his clinical expertise, he is passionate about building lasting relationships with pets, their families, and referring veterinarians. He finds particular reward in teaching and mentoring, sharing his knowledge with veterinary students, interns, residents, and colleagues to help strengthen cardiac medicine skills and elevate the standard of care.

Dr. Santistevan joined MOVES in 2025 and is focused on building strong, collaborative relationships within his partner network. His goal is to make advanced cardiac care more accessible and better connected for Front Range clinics and their clients.
