Dr. Erin McCarragher, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), board-certified veterinary cardiologist serving Charlotte, NC

Dr. McCarragher is originally from Tampa, Florida, and earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following veterinary school, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Colorado, followed by a specialty internship in cardiology at VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in California. Those experiences built a strong foundation in emergency and specialty care while deepening her interest in cardiac medicine.

That interest led her to a three-year cardiology residency at Oregon State University, and she achieved board certification through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2023.

Dr. McCarragher spent several years serving the greater Charlotte area as a private practice cardiologist and is excited to work even more closely with local veterinarians through mobile specialty care.

She enjoys all aspects of veterinary cardiology, with particular interests in the long-term management of congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, and helping patients maintain the best possible quality of life. Her diagnostic work includes echocardiography, electrocardiography, blood pressure evaluation, and Holter monitoring.

Dr. McCarragher joined MOVES in 2026 and is committed to a collaborative, team-oriented approach between pet owners and referring primary care veterinarians. Her goal is to make advanced cardiac care more accessible and better connected for Charlotte-area clinics and their clients.
