Suburban Chicago and Northwest Indiana | Internal Medicine

Dr. Vasilopulos earned his DVM degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. He practiced in the Chicagoland area for 8 years before completing a residency and master’s degree in small animal internal medicine at Mississippi State University, where his thesis and research involved Giardia infections in cats.

After completing his residency, he was the head of the internal medicine department and the director of the internship program for 8 years in Tucson, Arizona.  He returned to Chicago and practiced internal medicine for 12 years in a referral specialty practice.  He has been an internal medicine consultant for Veterinary Information Network (VIN) for 20+ years.

He enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, but gastroenterology, infectious diseases and hematology are included in his areas of interest. He has 20+ years of experience performing abdominal, thoracic, and small part ultrasound examinations as well as performing echocardiograms.  He is very experienced in endoscopy including gastrointestinal, bronchoscopy and rhinoscopy.

When Dr. Vasilopulos isn’t working, he enjoys scuba diving, golfing, and rooting for all Chicago sports teams, especially the Chicago Cubs.  He and his wife, Nancy, have 3 dogs – a Rottweiler, foster fail pit bull mix, and a small terrier mix that was rescued after being abandoned with pneumonia as a puppy.

Courtney Kirkland
MOVES is also pleased to announce the addition of Courtney Kirkland to our Chicago/Indiana team. Courtney is an experienced veterinary assistant, and she will be working alongside Dr. Vasilopulos to make it even easier for general practice and emergency hospitals throughout the suburban Chicago and northwest Indiana areas to host advanced internal medicine services.
